ALBANY PATROONS SET NEW TBL, FRANCHISE RECORD IN 155-90 WIN OVER RALEIGH; SHADELL MILLINGHAUS HITS TRIPLE-DOUBLE

(ALBANY) – With eight of ten different Patroons players scoring in double figures, the Albany Patroons finished their 2019 TBL basketball season the way they started it – with a massive victory on the Albany court, defeating the Raleigh Firebirds 115-90.

“I love how our guys were focused tonight,” said Albany’s Shadell Millinghaus, who notched a triple-double of 27 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists in the game. “We really could take it all the way with this team. I see the potential we have today. We tried to make a statement game tonight against Raleigh, and let everybody know that we’re here. We just want to go out and work hard and prepare to win, that’s why we wanted to win today in front of our fans, our fans give us a lot of energy and I appreciate all that they mean to us.”

In addition to Millinghaus’ efforts, the Patroons’ Darius Paul came off the bench to lead with 28 points; EJ Gallup’s 21 points included six baskets from 3-point range. Alonzo Murphy (17 pts, 11 rebs), Joshua Cameron (13), Anthony Moe (15), Steven Cunningham (11) and Jerel Scott (11) also scored in double figures for the Pats.

The Patroons’ 155-90 win over the Raleigh Firebirds set a new record for largest margin of victory by any Patroons squad in the franchise’s nearly 40 year history. The previous record of 60 points was set by the Patroons against the New York Court Kings in the 2019 TBL season opener.

The Firebirds were led in scoring by Demontez Loman with 17 points; Jaimee Jackson with 15; while Brock Young, Jared Grady and Julian Harris each scored 13 apiece.

Both the Patroons and the Firebirds will advance to the TBL playoffs, and will face each other on April 20th in Raleigh, April 23rd and April 24th in Albany (if necessary).
